Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12: The Masters
Electronic Arts announced the latest version of Tiger Woods PGA Tour golf today with two firsts: the game will feature the Masters Tournament, and Tiger Woods will not appear on the game's cover.
Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12: The Masters will allow players to step onto the fairways and greens of Augusta National and try to win the most coveted prize in pro golf: the Green Jacket.
"For more than a decade, the Masters Tournament has been the most requested and coveted feature for the Tiger Woods PGA Tour franchise among our fans," said Peter Moore, president of EA SPORTS. "Pairing the number one golf video game franchise with the most prestigious golf tournament in the world is a perfect marriage and we're thrilled to bring our fans this exciting opportunity to experience Augusta National Golf Club like never before."
EA is fired up about The Masters, but its enthusiasm for embattled golfer Tiger Woods appears to be waning. For the first time, Woods will not appear on the cover of the game that bears his name. The move comes the year after Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 had Woods sharing the cover of the game for the first time with Northern Ireland's Rory McIlroy.
PGA Tour 12 is being developed for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 (Move support), and Nintendo Wii. The game is set to ship on March 29 in North America and April 1 worldwide.
